What Is a Cryptid

The definition of a cryptid is a creature whose existence has not been proven by science, but has had written or eye witness accounts of sightings by multiple people.  There are many different ways of classifying something as a cryptid. Some cryptids are undiscovered species, some are creatures who did exist at one point in time, but are believed to be extinct, another is a creature whose description is found in mythology but actually describes a true creature.

Famous Roger Patterson Video

This video was shot by a man named Roger Patterson, and Robert Gimlin.  He was riding on a horse with Gimlin beside a river when Pattersons horse got scared by something across the river. He looked over the river and saw what he thought to be a female bigfoot. He fell off his horse and quickly started to film twith a sixteen millimeter camera, while Gimlin watched the creature with a shotgun.

The Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie to her friends, is a creature reported in Loch Ness in Scotland. One thing that makes Nessie special is that she's old, sorry Nessie. The first report of a monster in Loch Ness is an account from 565 of Saint Columba sending away a creature with the power of God. AMEN. Nessie has been sighted since then of course, otherwise she wouldn't be famous. Many people have different theories as to what Nessie is, the most common being a seal, an eel, a log, and according to some a dinosaur. The most common image of Nessie is a plesiosaur, even though this was popularized by the famous hoaxed Surgeons Photo. Even though Nessie is most commonly sighted in the loch, some have sighted her briefly on land.

Bigfoot

This creature is one of the most common creatures around the world. Bigfoot goes by multiple names, and there are multiple different forms. In the Pacific Northwest there's Sasquatch, which is the same as Bigfoot, the Alma in Mongolia, the Yeren from China, the Hibagon from Japan, the Yowie of Australia, the Yeti in Tibet, the Mapinguari in Brazil and many more in other areas of the world. The typical form of Bigfoot is a seven to nine foot tall humanoid covered in thick fur, typically a reddish brown. It had a slightly pointed head, no visible neck, and primitive face, and very large feet. The Sasquatch has been sighted in California, Oregon, Washington, and parts of Canada. Sightings of Bigfoot are rare, and more often are simply the appearance of large footprints in the mud. When Bigfoot is sighted he is typically skittish, but has occasionally become territorial and throws rocks with unnatural accuracy. Many people attempt to show a Bigfoot is in an area by making loud Bigfoot calls, AKA screaming, or creating wood knocks, AKA hitting a tree with a stick.
